A visit from Kate: getting up on this dream shit

For some reason I couldn't fall asleep last night, which always throws me off because it's the opposite of the rest of my life when I fall asleep all the time even when I don't want to. And all night long I had horrible nightmares about twitter, because I looked at it before I went to sleep. But they were mostly just images of things people I know could very well have said. Not even fanciful dream twitters, basically just made up screengrabs of boring things. I feel like this is what it must be like when religious leaders tell little boys not to masturbate because they'll get hairy palms or eyes growing out of their hands or what have you, and then something bad happens and they think it's their fault and swear they'll never do it again. All I'm saying is, it felt unholy, but I didn't really expect to be punished for it. Never again.

Finally I had a really great dream, a family epic in the tradition of One Hundred Years of Solitude or The House of the Spirits. A blind man was living with his grown daughter and her hard-living husband who she had known as a child but who had grown up into a thief and a criminal mastermind. The blind father was plotting how to escape with his daughter and go to retrieve the rest of his family, his wife and two small children, in the land of his birth. It was going to be great, and then I woke up.

So in response to Bob's Jekyll and Hyde post:

re: Abel Ferrara

This image apparently has to do with a 1979 Abel Ferrara jam called The Driller Killer, although I can't figure out how it
fits with the plot summary I just got from wikipedia.
See if you can guess which line is my favorite (hint- it has the word buffalo in it)

The story centers around Reno Miller (Ferrara), a painter struggling to make ends meet. He shares an apartment with his girlfriend Carol (Carolyn Marz) and her friend Pamela (Baybi Day). Despite being urged by Carol to finish his painting of a buffalo faster in order to pay the bills, Reno refuses, believing in the integrity of his art. The Roosters, a punk rock band, soon move into the apartment complex and begin practicing loudly at all hours. Reno's inability to concentrate worsens his already apparent madness, until he finally snaps and begins using an electric drill to murder the homeless.

After finally being completed, Reno's painting is rejected by the head of the art gallery, Dalton Briggs (Harry Schultz). Fed up, Carol leaves him for her ex-husband, Stephen (Richard Howorth). In retaliation, Reno invites Briggs to dinner and drills him to death. Pamela returns to find the corpse, and becomes a victim herself. In his final act of revenge, Reno breaks into Stephen and Carol's house, and kills Stephen while Carol is in the shower.

Whatever.  more info.

re: 6 lb burger
This British couple decided to celebrate their nuptials with a 42 lb burger instead of a wedding cake. Firefighter Tom, 36, said: "Not only did I get to marry the woman of my dreams but I also got to have the burger of my dreams in the same day."

Maybe that dude is in the Roosters, and by "punk rock" they meant "glam punk", like the Scissor Sisters?

Also, how does your favorite line not have the word "homeless" in it?

bob are you fucking kidding me? "Despite being urged by Carol to finish his painting of a buffalo faster in order to pay the bills, Reno refuses, believing in the integrity of his art."
